Vessel, Conical-shaped clay vessel, widest at approximately 3/4 of its height with quite wide, almost horizontal shoulders that slightly slope. Wide, short funnel-shaped neck widening toward the spout. Wide spout, flat in the upper part, slightly rounded at the bottom, slightly asymmetrical. Flat, asymmetrical bottom. Surface leveled; lower part finished to approximately 2/3 of its height with a knife or similar tool. Outer surface and inner surface of the rim and neck covered with a layer of dark red engobe. Vessel color: dark red. Vessel complete; surface eroded in many places, numerous clay chips on the rim. Dated ca. 2686–ca. 2181 BC Old Kingdom, Edfu. Height 16 cm; diameter 8.6 cm rim, 10.7 cm body, 4.5 cm bottom., A single terracotta-colored clay vessel with a flared rim and a tapered body is centered against a neutral gray background; the vessel shows a textured, slightly rough surface with darker speckles and lighter patches of wear, and colors visible include terracotta, darker brown specks, and pale beige scuffs, all under even lighting.
