Cylindrical vessel with crosshatched decoration, painted ceramic with engraved decorations and geometric motifs. The vessel has a shape resembling a cylinder, slightly tapering towards the bottom, with a slightly convex bottom and a widely rolled-out rim. A plastic, wavy ornament runs 3/4 of the way up; it is arranged so the upper part of the vessel appears recessed relative to the lower. Surface covered with a light engobe and decorated with a painted diagonal grid. Attributed to unknown author, possibly B. Ruszczyc. c. 3200–c. 3050 BC; Predynastic Period, Naqada III Naqada phase IIIa2, from Abusir el-Melek. Vessel. Height 27.5 cm; width 11 cm; weight 1.028 kg., A tall cylindrical ceramic vessel with a flared rim, showing a worn, textured surface in shades of light brown and tan with darker brown and reddish-brown painted zigzag lines and spots; the interior appears darker brown, and the background is a neutral gray.
