Votive female head, Female head wearing a wreath, from under which lush locks of hair curl down the sides of the face to the neck. High forehead, large eyes deep-set in relation to the nose, slightly convex with developed eyelids and eyeballs with marked pupils. Small straight nose; narrow, slightly parted mouth with fleshy lips. Strong chin slightly protruding forward; slim cheeks giving the face a triangular outline. 3rd–2nd century BC, Etruria; votive. Height 26 cm, width 21 cm, depth 13 cm, weight 2 kg., A sculpted head turned in profile, made of a warm tan clay with areas of lighter and darker tan and pale beige, showing a smooth forehead, prominent nose, closed lips, and a defined chin and neck; the head is covered by a textured hood or headdress with braided detailing along the side, and the base of the piece flares slightly and rests on a neutral pale gray surface against a soft light gray background.
