Votive female head, Female head wearing a wreath, from under which lush locks of hair curl down the sides of the face to the neck. High forehead, large eyes deep-set in relation to the nose, slightly convex with developed eyelids and eyeballs, pupils are marked. Small straight nose; narrow, slightly parted mouth with fleshy lips. Strong chin, slightly protruding forward; slim cheeks giving the face a triangular outline. 3rd–2nd century BC, Etruria; votive. Height 26 cm, width 21 cm, depth 13 cm, weight 2 kg., A terracotta-colored sculpted head shown in profile against a gray background, with a smooth elongated neck and base, textured surface with rougher areas and small pits, a carved nose, lips, chin, and an eye socket, braided or ridged hair detail running along the side of the head, and subtle variations of brown, tan, beige, reddish-brown, and gray tones across the surface.
