Votive female head, female head wearing a wreath, from under which lush locks of hair curl down the sides of the face to the neck. High forehead, large eyes, deep-set in relation to the nose, slightly convex with developed eyelids and eyeballs, pupils marked. Small straight nose, narrow slightly parted mouth with fleshy lips. Strong chin, slightly protruding. Slim cheeks giving the face a triangular outline. 3rd–2nd century BC, Etruria, votive. Height 26 cm, width 21 cm, depth 13 cm, weight 2 kg., A sculpted head made of a warm brown clay-like material sits against a plain grey background, showing a smooth neck and shoulders and a face with defined brows, a straight nose, full lips, and stylized curly hair framing the forehead and temples; the surface displays subtle variations of lighter and darker brown with small pale flecks and slightly rough texture in areas, and a faint reflected patch of similar brown beneath the base.
