Terracotta figurine of an actor, terracotta, actors, ancient theater, male figurines. Figurine of an actor sitting on a pedestal. The head is turned to the right. The legs are crossed at the ankles. The man is wearing a loincloth and a cloak covering the left side of the body. The left arm is bent at the elbow, and the hand rests on the right cheek. The right hand holds the cloak on the left shoulder. The face is covered by a caricatured mask with a beard. Preservation condition: fragment of the cheek, left hand, and left calf is imprinted. 332–30 BC; Hellenistic period, Greece. Sculpture, height 18.2 cm., The image shows the underside of a rectangular hollow object made of a rough, pale clay material with areas of light brown and beige discoloration; the inner cavity appears dark and shadowed with a few lighter patches of worn clay, and there is a small yellowish label adhered to one inner side; the background is a uniform medium gray and the object casts a faint reflection on a glossy gray surface.
