Terracotta figurine of a veiled woman, dancer, molded female figurine in fine-grained red clay Tanagra figurine. Figure of a standing woman in contrapposto. She wears a long chiton and himation covering the head, lower face, and upper torso. Both arms are bent — right hand placed in front on the breasts, left behind on the back. Probably the figure of a masked dancer. Condition: base stamped, head glued. Date: 3rd century BC. Place of origin: Tanagra Greece. Medium: terracotta sculpture. Dimensions: height 15.9 cm, width 4.8 cm., A standing figurine made of a rough textured material in shades of tan, beige, and light brown, shown from the back with a rounded head and simplified body forms; the figure has a rectangular hollow in the upper back and subtle carved folds suggesting clothing, with areas of lighter and darker tan tones and small patches of pale off-white on the surface, set against a plain neutral gray background.
