Type A oil lamp according to the typology of Kubiak of Fustat 9th–11th century; similar lamps have been found in Umayyad contexts late 7th–8th century. 2nd half 7th–8th century, Syro-Palestine; height 3.3 cm, width 11.0 cm, depth 9.8 cm., An aged, rounded object with a textured, worn surface sits against a solid gray background and shows a mix of colors including beige, brown, dark gray, and hints of black; the object has a raised central point and irregular indentations and grooves around its upper edge, with patches of lighter and darker areas creating a mottled appearance, and the lower portion tapers slightly and rests on a reflective surface that produces a soft mirrored image of the object below.
