Ushabti of Mrs. As, hieroglyphs, As ca. 1295–1069 BC, Minutoli, Alexander von 1806–1887, usekh necklace, hoes, wigs, grave goods, figurine in living costume, loincloth reaching to the ankles. Arms crossed on the chest, right folded over left. Hoes in both hands, basket on the back slung over both shoulders. A usekh necklace on the chest, wide bracelets on the wrists. On the head is a smooth, double wig. Round face, poorly defined nose, narrow mouth, large eyes. The wig, eyes, eyebrows, mouth, necklace, bracelets, hoes, and bag are painted in brown with a burgundy tint. The inscription is painted. The inscription runs in one vertical line on the front of the headband. Text: Shd Osiris, Lady of the House of As. c. 1295–c. 1069 BC; New Kingdom, 19th–20th Dynasty, Egypt, shabti; height 13.2 cm, width 4.5 cm, A small standing figurine with a rounded head and folded arms, mounted on a rectangular block. The figure has dark brown hair painted over the head and upper shoulders, a pale off-white body with areas of brownish staining, and darker brown painted lines indicating clothing and details on the arms and upper torso. The lower portion of the figure shows a vertical band of darker brown markings against the pale surface. The base is a muted yellowish-orange block with a slightly textured surface. The background is a uniform gray.
