Large ovoid amphora with rounded foot, clay MD-type marl, Vienna System; body wheel-made, foot hand-made; surface even; color very light brown; neck and spout missing. Two small vertical vices on the body at the greatest bulge at the base of the handles; sloping handles symmetrically placed with two black-painted inscriptions labels/dockets on their bases. Above one vice, slightly toward center, are impressed cartouches of Hatshepsut and Thutmose III and a snake hieroglyph dz. Under one vice is a potter’s mark of two intersecting lines. New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty reign of Hatshepsut and Thutmose III, ca. 1550–1295 BC; height preserved 49.5 cm, belly diameter 30.5 cm., An elongated clay vessel with a rounded top and a tapered, pointed bottom, showing a roughly textured surface in muted beige and tan with areas of pale pink and light brown; a curved handle projects from the upper body, blending into the vessel’s surface where there are small chips and a visible crack, and the rim at the top appears uneven and broken.
