Fragment of a relief with a dancing maenad, 1st century BC, 27 BC–14 AD period of the rule of Octavian Augustus, Roman Empire, bas-relief, height 35 cm, width 30 cm, thickness 6.5 cm, A carved marble fragment showing the lower part of a draped figure with a few visible feet and flowing folds of cloth, all rendered in pale off-white and creamy beige tones with subtle areas of light gray and faint warm discoloration; the drapery forms several rounded pleats and curling edges, and the feet rest on a rectangular base of the same stone; the background is a smooth neutral gray.
