Decorative pendant from a horse harness, unknown Near Eastern workshop. The pendant is in the form of a thick ring with a round eyelet at the top. The lower half of the ring is decorated with 16 notches; on both sides the notching terminates in a pair of small round knobs. The pendant was probably an element of a harness. 9th–6th century BC end of the 2nd millennium–first half of the 1st millennium BC; Iron Period. Provenance: Near East; origin: Luristan. Materials: metal; harness component/pendant; decoration. Weight: 94 g; diameter: 5.5 cm; thickness: 1.2 cm., A small sculptural object stands upright against a plain gray background, showing a textured, weathered surface with a mix of green, brown, and dark bronze tones; the form tapers toward the top with an irregular protrusion, a rounded upper section with two raised rounded areas on the front, and a segmented lower portion with a series of rounded horizontal ridges; lighting casts a soft shadow beneath the object.
