Decoration includes palmettes at the vices and lotus buds under the vices. Greek ceramic vessel kylix, Attica; dated 510–500 BC previous dating c. 520 BC. Weight 1.030 kg., A shallow, wide bowl with two horizontal handles sits on a low pedestal; the bowl's interior and exterior surfaces show a dark, almost black finish interrupted by a network of lighter, tan-colored cracks and repaired lines, and the rim, handles, and foot display exposed tan areas where the dark surface is worn. The handles are elongated and curved with dark outer surfaces and tan-colored inner faces, and the pedestal foot is dark with tan edges and a visible patch of lighter tone. The interior shows a smooth dark field with irregular tan fissures, while the exterior includes silhouettes and partial figures in the tan color against the dark background. The overall colors visible are black, tan, and hints of brown.
