Lamp decorated with a depiction of a dog, unknown eastern workshop, single-burner oil lamp, dogs iconography, 1st century, Roman Empire 27 BC–476, oil lamp, weight 0.082 kg, A round terracotta object with a scalloped rim and a flattened extension at the bottom, showing an embossed animal figure in the central disc. The object displays a range of reddish-brown and dark brown tones with areas of lighter tan and small pale flecks. The central design features a raised depiction of an animal in profile with a curled tail, set within concentric circular grooves; there is a circular hole near the animal's midsection and a larger circular opening in the flattened extension. The surface shows worn and rough texture with small chips and irregularities, and subtle variations in color where the material appears darker around the edges and lighter toward the center.
