A himation, draped over her shoulders like a shawl, covers her arms to the elbows. On her head she wears a cylindrical polos, slightly widening upwards and folded into a veil flowing down the back. Hair protrudes from beneath the headdress, flowing in wavy patterns to the sides. The face is full, with a rounded chin, large eyes, and fleshy lips drawn into a characteristic smile. In her left hand, bent at the elbow, the woman holds a piglet; with her right hand she supports the animal's hind leg. 5th century BC, Southern Italy Italy.
