The woman is dressed in a finely pleated chiton reaching down to her bare feet, with a semicircular neckline. A himation, draped over her shoulders like a shawl, covers her arms to the elbows. On her head she wears a cylindrical polos, slightly widening upwards and folded into a veil flowing down the back. Hair protrudes from beneath the headdress, flowing in wavy patterns to the sides. The face is full, with a rounded chin, large eyes, and fleshy lips drawn into a characteristic smile. In her left hand, bent at the elbow, the woman holds a piglet; with her right hand she supports the animal's hind leg. 5th century BC, Southern Italy Italy. Terracotta figurine; height 28 cm, width 10 cm, depth 10 cm, weight 0.57 kg. Pigs iconography; female figurines., A weathered standing statue of a robed figure carved from light brown stone, shown full-length against a plain gray background; the figure has long hair and a rounded head covering, a serene expression with closed or downcast eyes, and an eroded nose; the draped garment features vertical carved folds and a textured surface, and the figure holds a small animal against the torso with both hands; the base is a rectangular block of the same light brown material, and there are patches of slightly darker brown and faint reddish discoloration in places.
