Orientalizing aryballos with depictions of lotus flowers; maker, used for oils and ointments; Greek pottery, Corinth; dated 580–570 BC; pottery vessel aryballos; height 6.8 cm, width 7.4 cm, weight 0.112 kg., A rounded ceramic vessel with a short neck and a thick flat handle across the top, showing worn painted decoration. The surface colors include beige and off-white as the base, with dark brown and deep reddish-brown painted floral and abstract motifs, and small areas of blackened wear. The handle and upper rim show lighter beige with darker scuff marks, and the body displays several stylized flower shapes and large petal-like forms in dark brown against the lighter background. The vessel has areas of surface abrasion and chips revealing lighter clay beneath, and the image background is a uniform pale gray.
