Medum-type bowl, ceramics; Egyptian pottery; clay vessel. Bowl with a hemispherical shape: walls bend gently around about 2/3 of the height of the vessel; straight rim perpendicular to the shoulders, slightly irregular; rounded bottom. Surface even; red color. Vessel glued together from several fragments. c. 2686–c. 2181 BC, Old Kingdom, Edfu. Vessel; height 5.5 cm; diameter 12.6 cm rim; diameter 13.5 cm shoulders., A rounded clay bowl shown against a plain gray background, with an overall reddish-brown color and areas of darker brown and faint black speckling; the surface appears rough and weathered with visible cracks and small chips, and there are traces of lighter tan and gray discoloration in spots.
