Vessel, Egyptian pottery ceramic clay vessel, conical, widest at approximately 3/4 of its height. Shoulders wide, almost horizontal, slightly sloping. Neck wide, short, funnel-shaped, widening towards the spout. Spout wide, flat in the upper part, slightly rounded at the bottom, slightly asymmetrical. Bottom slightly convex, asymmetrical. Surface even. Lower part worked to approximately 2/3 of its height with a knife or similar tool. Outer surface and inner surface of rim and neck covered with a layer of dark red engobe. Color dark red. Vessel complete; surface eroded in many places, numerous clay chips on the rim. Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–2181 BC; provenance: Edfu.
