Sekhmet figurine, lion-headed goddess shown standing or walking; lioness head with tripartite wig topped by a solar disk adorned with a uraeus. Right arm hangs at her side, clenched into a fist revealing a hole from a lost cult object; left arm broken at the elbow. Figurine broken at the knuckles and mounted on a modern cylindrical wooden base with a contoured edge. 664–525 BC; Late Period, 26th Dynasty, Egypt; figurine; height 9.7 cm., A small dark bronze statue of a standing human figure is shown from the back, placed on a round dark wooden base; the figure has a smooth rounded head with a large circular disk on top, long straight hair carved in vertical grooves, a narrow waist and hips, and one arm bent with the hand resting at the side while the other arm hangs down with a small hole near the wrist; the statue surface shows a mottled dark brown and greenish patina with some lighter worn spots, and the base is a deep black with a slightly glossy finish, all set against a soft pale gray background.
