Sekhmet figurine, lion-headed goddess shown standing or walking. The figure has a lioness' head in a tripartite wig topped with a solar disk adorned with a uraeus. Sekhmet's right arm hangs down at her side, clenched into a fist, with a hole left by a lost cult object; the left arm is broken at the elbow. The figurine was broken at the knuckles and is mounted on a modern cylindrical wooden base with a contoured edge. 664–525 BC; Late Period, 26th Dynasty, Egypt. Terracotta/stone figurine, height 9.7 cm., A small sculpted figure stands on a rounded dark base against a pale gray background; the figure is dark bronze with a textured surface and depicts a slender humanlike body with a feline head topped by a circular disk and a small vertical projection at the disk's front, the head showing carved facial features and rounded ears, the torso showing faint indications of a collar or necklace and one arm hanging down while the other is bent behind the back, and the base is a smooth black or very dark brown with a stepped profile.
