Medum-type bowl, Egyptian pottery, clay vessel. Bowl with a hemispherical shape, narrowing just below the rim to form a carination; rounded bottom; straight, slightly widening spout whose diameter is slightly larger than the shoulders. Surface even, covered with a red engobe and polished. Vessel color: red. Fairly well preserved, minor losses on the rim. Circa 2494–2181 BC; Old Kingdom, 5th–6th Dynasty, Edfu find location. Function: vessel. Height 7 cm; spout diameter 26.4 cm; weight 0.90 kg., A shallow, wide bowl with a rounded profile sits on a short clear cylindrical support against a smooth gray background; the bowl is an earthy reddish-brown color with lighter beige spots and areas of wear, showing surface scratches and subtle variations in tone.
