Clay vessel with hemispherical shape narrowing just below the rim to form a carination; rounded bottom and straight, slightly widening spout whose diameter is slightly larger than the shoulders. Surface even, covered with a red engobe and polished. Vessel color: red. Fairly well preserved with minor losses on the rim. c. 2494–c. 2181 BC; Old Kingdom, 5th–6th Dynasty, Edfu. Vessel, height 7 cm, diameter 26.4 cm spout, weight 0.90 kg., A shallow, round terracotta bowl with a slightly raised rim sits against a smooth gray background; the bowl shows a reddish-brown color with lighter and darker variations, a few small speckles and scuffs, and a subtle horizontal ridge around its exterior.
