Medum-type bowl, Medum-type bowl of clay with hemispherical body narrowing just below the rim to form a carination, rounded bottom, and straight slightly widening spout whose diameter is slightly larger than the shoulders. Surface even, covered with a red engobe and polished; vessel color red. Fairly well preserved with minor losses on the rim. c. 2494–c. 2181 BC; Old Kingdom, 5th–6th Dynasty, Edfu; vessel. Height 7 cm, spout diameter 26.4 cm, weight 0.90 kg., A round shallow dish with a raised rim, shown from above, in a reddish-brown earthenware color with areas of darker and lighter reddish-brown and a few small dark specks and scuffs; the background is a flat light gray and the dish sits on a translucent support that is faintly visible at the bottom.
