Medum-type bowl, Egyptian pottery, Medum-type bowl, clay vessel. Bowl with a hemispherical shape narrowing just below the rim to form a carination; rounded bottom; straight, slightly widening spout whose diameter is slightly larger than the diameter of the shoulders. Surface even, covered with a red engobe and polished. Vessel color: red. Fairly well preserved with minor losses on the rim. c. 2494–c. 2181 BC; Old Kingdom, 5th–6th Dynasty, Edfu find location. Vessel; height 7 cm, spout diameter 26.4 cm; weight 0.90 kg., A single terracotta object with a reddish-brown color stands centered against a light gray background; it has a wide shallow bowl at the top resting on a flared disk, a tapering, hourglass-like stem, and a broad flared base showing a textured, slightly worn surface with variations of reddish-brown and some paler, dusty patches.
