Bowl base. Base for a vessel with an almost equal diameter of both rims. Both rims are irregular, with a wavy line. The center of the base is empty. The narrowest part of the base is approximately 2/3 of the height of the entire vessel. Vessel made of Nile clay NB1. The surface of the vessel is leveled and covered with an engobe, and then polished. Vessel color: red. Complete vessel, very well preserved. c. 2494–c. 2181 BC; Old Kingdom, 5th–6th Dynasty, Edfu. Vessel; top diameter 17.5 cm, bottom diameter 18 cm, height 25.6 cm, weight 1.30 kg., A single reddish-brown ceramic pedestal bowl shown against a plain light gray background, with a wide shallow bowl at the top, a flared rim, a narrow neck expanding into a trumpet-shaped base, a rounded ledge where the bowl meets the stem, and visible surface texture and small worn areas on the pottery.
