Bowl base. Base for a vessel with an almost equal diameter of both rims. Both rims are irregular, with a wavy line. The center of the base is empty. The narrowest part of the base is approximately 2/3 of the height of the entire vessel. Vessel made of Nile clay NB1. The surface is leveled and covered with an engobe, then polished. Vessel color: red. Complete vessel, very well preserved. c. 2494–c. 2181 BC; Old Kingdom, 5th–6th Dynasty, Edfu findplace. Vessel; diameter top 17.5 cm, diameter bottom 18 cm, height 25.6 cm, weight 1.30 kg., A terracotta object with a smooth matte surface in shades of reddish-brown and orange, shaped like an hourglass with a flared circular base and a wide, flat top; the object shows subtle surface texture and small imperfections, and it stands against a muted gray background.
