Bowl base. Base for a vessel with an almost equal diameter of both rims; both rims are irregular, with a wavy line. The center of the base is empty. The narrowest part of the base is approximately 2/3 of the height of the entire vessel. Made of Nile clay NB1. Surface leveled, covered with an engobe, then polished. Vessel color: red. Complete, very well preserved. c. 2494–c. 2181 BC; Old Kingdom, 5th–6th Dynasty, Edfu. Vessel; top diameter 17.5 cm, bottom diameter 18 cm, height 25.6 cm, weight 1.30 kg., A terracotta object shaped like a tall hourglass with a flared base and a flat, slightly rounded top is centered against a smooth gray background; the object has an earthy reddish-brown color with a matte, slightly rough surface showing small imperfections and subtle variations in tone, and the background displays a uniform cool gray.
