Mirror cover with an image of a couple. The bronze cover is decorated with a figurative scene of two people on the outside. The edge is also decorated with a braided ornament. The depiction includes a man and a woman facing each other, seated on rocks. The man's body is naked, with a chlamys draped over his left shoulder. The figure rests on a rock with his right hand, while his left touches the woman's right wrist. Dressed in a long chiton and himation, the woman also holds her left hand on a rock. The robe forms a few wide folds around the hips. A series of thick folds of fabric are also visible on the legs. Higher up, the fabric accentuates the woman's natural shape, while the folds are sparse and subtle. The depiction can be interpreted as a pair of lovers. Circular holes are carved in the man's right foot and the woman's left foot. Circular, c. 300 BC, Corinth; mirror; height 3 cm, diameter 14 cm., A round, relief-carved disc with a weathered, rough surface showing shades of green, brown, and hints of dark gray; the central scene depicts a sculpted pair of humanlike figures seated and facing each other, one appearing more muscular and partially draped while the other wears flowing, draped garments; both figures have raised arms and appear to be touching hands, with folds of fabric and textured hair visible; the disc has a raised rim with decorative patterns and an uneven patina across its surface, including areas of darker and lighter green and brown discoloration.
