Snake-headed fibula, unknown Southern Italian workshop. Fibula with an arched, thick hoop. The hoop is terminated on one side with an imitation spiral, and on the other side connected to the rectangular wall of the sheath, bent at the bottom. A cylindrical leg extends from the sheath, bent towards the hoop, ending with a snake's head. The hoop is decorated with numerous longitudinally engraved lines. Condition: corrosion, missing needle. 5th–4th century BC, Southern Italy. Materials: silver. Iconography: snake. Function: fibula., A close-up of a metallic object shaped like a curved animal head and neck with a hooked extension, shown against a plain light gray background; the object appears shiny with a silver-gray metallic surface and subtle darker gray shadows, showing smooth and slightly textured areas and rounded contours.
