Snake-headed fibula, Southern Italian workshop. Fibula with an arched, thick hoop terminated on one side with an imitation spiral and on the other connected to the rectangular wall of the sheath, bent at the bottom. A cylindrical leg extends from the sheath, bent towards the hoop, ending with a snake's head. The hoop is decorated with numerous longitudinally engraved lines. Material: silver. Condition: corrosion, missing needle. Date: 5th–4th century BC. Iconography: snake. Type: fibula., A small metallic object with a dull silver-gray surface rests against a plain light gray background; the object has an elongated central body with a slightly rounded end and a flattened end, a few raised ridges and grooves along its length, and a small curl or hooked projection at one side, showing areas of smoother and rougher texture and subtle darker gray tarnish.
