Fragment of a Sinopean amphora vice with a partially preserved rectangular stamp. The stamp is oval in cross-section, flattened, and located on the bend of the vice. Originally a four-line stamp: the first line of the legend is not impressed; the last line is partially preserved only upper parts of letters visible; last two letters missing. To the right of the legend was an emblem in the form of a prora. Originally, the first line contained the astynomic title; the second line contained the name of the astynomeus Delphios in the generic form; the third line is his patronymic; the fourth line contains the name of the manufacturer Agathon II in the nominative. Maker: Agathon II ca. 250–205 BC. Date: 2nd half of the 3rd century BC. Findspot: Myrmekion Crimea. Origin: Sinope. Type: stamped amphora vice stamp, vice. Height: 12.8 cm., A close-up of a cylindrical object with a rough, sandy surface in shades of tan and light brown dotted with small dark specks, resting on a smooth grey background; the object shows textured areas with irregular indentations, scratches, and small pits, and there are patches where the surface appears slightly raised or eroded, displaying varied grainy and smoother bands across its curved face.
