Bowl with Greek inscription. Glass bowl made of transparent, light blue glass with a Greek inscription reading Rejoice that you have come. Uneven rim edge, cold-worked. Relief decoration in the lower register: radially arranged long leaves flutes; inscription in the upper, widest part of the bowl bounded at top and bottom by horizontal ribs. Blown in a three-part form. Type: Harden group G.1.IIa. Date: 1st century or 1st half of the 1st century?. Probable origin: Sidon; findspot: Cyprus. Vessel; weight 0.070 kg; diameter 4.5 cm bottom, diameter 7.4 cm rim; height 7 cm., A translucent glass bowl with a rounded body and a slightly flared rim sits centered on a smooth surface; the glass shows a pale bluish-green tint with areas of clear translucency and some darker green and grayish discoloration near the rim, and the surface of the bowl features embossed horizontal bands and textured decorative patterns including rippled and raised motifs, with a few small bubbles and irregularities in the glass and a subtle shadow beneath the bowl.
