Olpe type of jug for liquids with inscription, unknown Attic workshop; Crito ca. 550–500 BC signature KRITONEPOIESEN: Krito made it, Greek ceramics, pottery marks, Greek inscriptions. Black-finished olpe with a clay-coloured cartouche at the point of maximum diameter. Medium-sized olpe; rim edge slightly turned outwards; low neck gently transitioning into a concave, spherical belly clearly distinguishable from the low conical foot with a recess; bottom slightly convex; profiled handle with clearly distinguishable edges. On the inner side of the rim two clay nodules one reconstructed are visible, located 4.5 cm apart on the handle side. Date: 550–500 BC. Place of origin: Attica, Athens. Object type: olpe vessel. Dimensions: height 26 cm, width 13.5 cm, depth 15.5 cm, weight 0.58 kg., A tall pottery vessel with a narrow neck and single strap handle rising from the rim, showing worn areas and chips that reveal a reddish-brown clay beneath a glossy black surface; the body is bulbous with a gently flared rim and a rounded foot, and a horizontal band of exposed reddish-brown clay encircles the middle; the surface of the vessel has numerous small scratches and flecks where the black coating is abraded, and the colors visible are black and reddish-brown against a neutral gray background.
