Jug, Cypriot pottery, Base Ring Ware I, 1600–1450 BC, Cyprus. Jug with an echinus-shaped foot; a biconical, slightly rounded belly; a high narrow neck terminating in a funnel-shaped, flared spout. The neck is set at a slight inclination from the plane of the foot. Ribbon-shaped handle mounted two-thirds up the neck and to the body; at the neck it merges into a double applied ring surrounding the neck. Pinkish clay with a brown surface, in places fading to a brick-red hue. Surface heavily rubbed with slight loss of the rings on the neck. Vessel, height 12.3 cm, diameter 6.7 cm., A single worn clay vessel with a rounded body, a narrow tall neck that flares into a funnel-shaped rim, and a curved handle connecting the neck to the shoulder; the surface shows uneven texture and pitting with areas of discoloration. The visible colors include shades of brown, tan, beige, and gray with darker mottled patches. The background is a uniform light gray.
