Jug, Cypriot pottery, Base Ring Ware I. Jug with an echinus-shaped foot; a biconical, slightly rounded belly; a high, narrow neck terminating in a funnel-shaped, flared spout. The neck is set at a slight inclination from the plane of the foot. A ribbon-shaped handle is mounted two-thirds up the neck and to the body; at the neck it merges into a double applied ring surrounding the neck. Pinkish clay with a brown surface, in places fading to a brick-red hue. Surface heavily rubbed, slight loss of the rings on the neck. 1600–1450 BC, Cyprus; vessel; height 12.3 cm, diameter 6.7 cm., An aged ceramic vessel with a rounded body, a narrow neck that widens into a flared rim, and an arched handle connecting the neck to the shoulder; the surface shows a worn, textured appearance with patches and speckles. The visible colors include muted browns, grayish tones, and subtle beige areas, with some darker mottling and traces of lighter, almost pale spots against a neutral gray background.
