Double-edged sword, Bosporan workshop. Scen.Gal.Class., militaria, melee weapons, Black Sea region. Short sword, cast in one piece. Double-edged blade with a centric point. A slight protrusion, called the axis, runs through the center of both flats. The handle is divided into three parts: a the blade in the form of a small, slightly flattened mushroom cap b the handle shaft has a round cross-section, narrowing towards the blade, formed from 9 rings separated by grooves c the guard in the form of oblique, short leaves protruding slightly beyond the width of the blade and separated by a triangular bulge. Sword of the Cimmerian type, 6th century BC, Black Sea region, weapon. Height 55.5 cm, width 5.8 cm, depth 3.5 cm, weight 0.888 kg, length 55.3 cm, A long metallic dagger with a straight, slightly tapered blade and a rounded tip lies vertically against a pale background; the blade shows a weathered, mottled surface in shades of gray, muted green, and dull brown with visible pitting and irregular texture, and it connects to a short guard and a ribbed cylindrical handle that is darker gray with hints of brown and small lighter speckles.
