Stamp seal with geometric ornament. A prism-shaped stamp seal with rounded edges and an oval, nearly rectangular base. A hole is drilled through the longer diagonal side walls transverse to the longitudinal axis of the stamp. On a flat base is carved a shallow geometric ornament consisting of regularly spaced, slightly open hooks: two large hooks with their tips touching in the center and four small hooks in triangular fields between the arms of the large hooks. Halaf culture, c. 6th–5th millennium BC. Northern Mesopotamia Iraq, Syria, Turkey. Seal. Height 0.8 cm; width 1.5 cm; depth 1.7 cm; hole diameter 0.2 cm., A small oval object with a smooth, worn surface in dark gray to black tones, showing lighter gray scratches or incisions forming a symmetrical pattern, with a visible rounded edge and a small drilled hole through one side, photographed against a pale, light gray background.
