Jug, Excavated at Nea Paphos Cyprus. Cypriot pottery, Bronze Age White Painted IV, dated 1800–1650 BC Middle Cypriot period II–III. Cream clay with cream surface; geometric decoration in black. Pear-shaped belly, tall tapering neck, three-part spout, gently rounded base. Small vertical ribbon-like handle vise placed in an arc above the base of the neck; handle exterior decorated with three groups of three transverse lines each and painted sides; interior of spout similarly decorated. Neck covered with densely spaced straight and wavy lines, terminating at a horizontal line at the neck base. Upper body decorated with eight sets of two wavy lines radiating from the neck base, bordered by straight lines, extending to about one-third of the body height where they meet three horizontal lines at the vessel’s maximal bulge.
