Latin grave inscription, unknown author, 2nd century, Roman Empire 27 BC–476, slab epitaph, grave inscription; height 31 cm, width 28 cm, A square stone plaque with a recessed rectangular panel and a raised border, showing a weathered surface in shades of light gray, beige, and off-white; within the panel a group of carved letterforms are arranged in horizontal lines, their incised shapes creating shallow shadows of slightly darker gray; the plaque edges are slightly rounded and chipped in a few places, and there are faint brownish stains and small pits on the stone surface; the background behind the plaque is a smooth mid-gray.
