Slab with a Latin votive inscription for Fortuna Conservatrix, Caius Iulius Maianus, 2nd–3rd century; limestone slab with smoothed front surface and sides and an irregular back, upper left corner missing. Front bears a carved inscription in five lines; letters were at some point painted red two paint types: darker in most letters and a lighter, very thick paint in the letter E in line 2. Associated with Fortuna mythology, Latin inscriptions, baths, centurions, Germania Superior, Roman legions. Votive slab, width 33 cm, height 18 cm, thickness 6 cm; found at Bad Ems presumably in the baths of the Roman fort., A roughly rectangular, weathered stone slab with an uneven, pitted surface and irregular edges sits against a flat background. The stone displays a range of beige and tan tones with areas of light brown, pale cream, and faint grayish patches. The surface texture is coarse and granular, showing depressions, raised ridges, and small rough nodules. The top edge is slightly jagged and sloping, while one corner is more rounded and another edge cuts at a shallow angle. Subtle variations in color create mottled patterns across the slab, and a few faint lighter spots appear near the lower edge. The background is a uniform medium gray.
