Fragment of architectural decoration. Corner section of a fragment made in relief. The cornice is decorated with bands of ovoids, pearls, cubes, and acanthus leaves. The band decoration is separated by a thin roller from part of the frieze, which depicts a plant tendril with a rosette and a bird. Deep, plastic relief, background drilled. 1st–2nd century, Italy. Roman architecture; cymatium; friezes; bird and plant decorative motifs; bas-relief. Height 45 cm, width 30 cm, depth 15 cm maximum, depth 7 cm minimum, weight 15.354 kg., A carved stone fragment with intricate raised reliefs showing floral and leaf motifs and rounded bead-like forms, displayed against a flat gray background; the stone appears weathered with a surface texture of pitting and erosion, and its colors range from light beige to warm gray with small areas of darker gray and subtle off-white patches.
