Ushabti, Mummy-shaped figurine, impressed in a mold, carelessly made of faience; back flat and unfinished. Arms crossed on the chest with right hand over left; arms distinct. Tools almost invisible — faint outline on the right shoulder of a tool or string for hanging a basket. Head with a smooth three-part wig, front strands reaching to the breasts toward the center of the chest; back strand not cut from the back. Ears exposed, large, vaguely modeled. Facial details illegible; false beard barely visible. Irregularities and lines on the front of the legs suggest an inscription, now completely illegible. Figurine cracked at waist and glued; glaze surface heavily worn. Typology Schneider: 4.5.4 4.5.2 ? Shabti; height 5.6 cm, width 2 cm, depth 1.7 cm., A small, upright figurine-like object with a rounded top and a tapered base is shown against a plain gray background; the object is predominantly light blue with areas of darker blue, pale greenish-blue, and spots of tan and brown discoloration, and it has a rough, slightly pitted surface texture with a few small raised bumps and an irregular horizontal seam around the midsection.
