Shabti, mummy-shaped figurine, funerary gift. Mummy-shaped figurine standing on a base, back supported by a pillar/pilaster. Arms crossed on the chest, only the hands visible from under the shroud; right hand holds a hoe, left hand a pickaxe. On the back is a basket slung on a string over the left shoulder. Wearing a three-part smooth wig; long, straight, smooth beard. Large eyes, wide nose, grimacing mouth, very large ears. Inscribed inscription on the pilaster illegible. 332–30 BC; Late Period–Ptolemaic period, Egypt. Shabti, height 8.5 cm., A vertical carved figurine with a rounded top and tapered body in earthy tan and greenish hues standing on a small rectangular dark gray base, showing a textured surface with small pits and a few darker brown spots, and a narrow strip of muted red along one side, set against a uniform medium-gray background.
