Sarcophagus mask with an elongated, triangular face. A fragment of a wig is preserved above the forehead; the wig is painted with black stripes. Disproportionately large eyes placed asymmetrically in relation to each other. The outline of the eyes, pupils, eyebrows, and details of the ears are highlighted with black dye. 1st–3rd century, Roman Period, Egypt. Sarcophagus mask; height 24.8 cm, width 22.5 cm., A worn carved face mask with a beige-brown surface and dark black painted accents, showing a rounded top with a striped band of dark black arcs, stylized eyebrows and eye outlines in black, hollowed eye openings with dark interior areas, a carved nose with a small hole, and a damaged lower chin with missing fragments; the ears are visible at the sides and the overall texture is rough and aged, with variations of beige, brown, and black across the piece.
