Ushabti, Mummy-shaped figurine, standing on a base with a narrow, slightly convex pillar at the back. Arms crossed high on the chest, right folded over left. Left hand holds a pickaxe, right a mattock; a twisted rope passes over the left shoulder with a bag at its end on the back. Wears a smooth, three-part wig and a long straight beard. Facial details poorly legible. Not inscribed. 332–30 BC, Ptolemaic Period, Egypt. Height 12.1 cm., A small human-shaped figurine viewed from the back, made of a smooth turquoise-blue material with areas of beige where the surface is worn or chipped; the figure has a rounded head, broad shoulders, a long narrow body, and indistinct feet. The surface shows a few cracks and worn patches and a small hollowed area on one side; there is a rectangular inset on the back with a thin dark-blue border. The background is a uniform mid-gray.
