Fragment of a shabti. Head of a shabti figurine with rather carelessly rendered facial features, in a smooth wig and a thin beard. Celadon glaze. 332–30 BC; Ptolemaic Period. Found at El-Kantara. Shabti; height 2.6 cm., A roughly oval object with an uneven, textured surface, showing a contrast between a creamy off-white area and a weathered greenish-brown area; the greenish-brown section has traces of blue marks and small patches of red, while the off-white area appears chalky with rough, pitted texture and some small darker specks; lighting creates soft shadows and highlights that emphasize the surface irregularities, and the background is a uniform muted gray.
