Tombstone of Apollonides, son of Hippias of Gela, 300–250 BC; Ptolemaic period. Found at Zawiyet el-Mayetin near Minia, Kom el Ahmar. Greek inscription. Height 58.5 cm, width 32 cm, depth 9 cm, weight 25.5 kg., A tall, roughly rectangular stone slab with an uneven top edge and irregular sides, showing a heavily textured, pitted surface with a rough, granular appearance; the slab is beige to light brown with small areas of lighter off-white patches and subtle darker brown shadows, and it is set against a flat gray background.
