Terracotta figurine of a woman, terracotta, female molded figurine, Greece, orange clay, surface covered with whitewash. Woman dressed in a short, pleated chiton girdled at the waist. Long, thick neck and disproportionately small head with an oval face. Hair combed upwards and tied in a bun, held by a headband tenia tied in a bow at the top of the head. Back of the figurine is unfinished. Originally had separately attached arms and legs below the knees, evidenced by a recess and perforations for hooks. Condition: missing arms and legs, whitewash worn away. c. 400 BC. Toy. Height 10.1 cm, width 3.5 cm., A weathered small sculpted figure in profile against a plain gray background, showing a head with a rounded hairstyle or headpiece and a long slender neck leading to a narrow torso with displaced or damaged arms; the surface has an aged, rough texture with areas of flaking and small holes, and the visible colors are various shades of brown, beige, off-white, and hints of pale yellow.
