Necklace, Necklace consisting of 97 cylindrical blue-glazed faience beads, interwoven with 13 spherical, slightly flattened beads of red glass. 4th–6th century; Post-Meroitic period. Found at Ashkot salvage excavations, 4th Cataract, Sudan, context: 1/T2, chamber, southern part. Jewelry., A simple looped strand of small square and cylindrical beads laid flat on a pale gray background, the beads forming an oval with a tied black cord at the top; the beads show a range of turquoise and light blue shades with patches of green and some beads in a dark reddish-brown, and a few beads that appear paler or more off-white.
